Team Leader - Survey

About the role

The Team Leader – Survey role in Wellington is responsible for growing and managing the survey discipline across the Wellington and lower North Island area. Working alongside a technical surveying position, the leader will devote roughly 10‑15% of their time to leadership duties while maintaining a core technical focus.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and expand the survey discipline to meet client and stakeholder expectations.
• Drive commercial, people and project outcomes to deliver exceptional results.
• Collaborate with technical survey staff, providing guidance and oversight.
• Support business development and strategic initiatives within the region.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in surveying, engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in an infrastructure‑related management position.
• Professional accreditation relevant to surveying.
• Ability to work effectively with people at all organisational levels.

Required skills

• Strong spatial data skills.
• Proficiency in surveying techniques and tools.
