Team Leader Proactive Campaigns

About the role

The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) is creating a new senior position to lead proactive environmental compliance campaigns. Based in Wellington, the Team Leader Proactive Campaigns will manage a team of five officers who identify and resolve compliance issues across a wide range of legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day management of a five‑person team delivering high‑impact proactive campaigns.
• Coach, mentor and develop team members while fostering a positive culture across the CME group.
• Champion best practice in regulatory delivery and balance strong compliance with effective outcomes.
• Integrate training, health, safety & wellbeing and continuous‑improvement processes into the team’s work.
• Drive measurable results such as increased engagement with regulated parties and improved compliance across industries.

Required profile

• Proven leadership or people‑management experience, preferably in a regulatory or compliance environment.
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation and the ability to translate it into practical actions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes.
