Team Leader Proactive Campaigns

About the role

The Team Leader Proactive Campaigns is a newly created position within the EPA’s Compliance, Monitoring and Enforcement (CME) group. The role focuses on tackling complex environmental compliance challenges by leading proactive campaigns that identify and resolve compliance issues across a wide range of legislation. Based in Wellington, the role offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day management of a team of five delivering high‑impact proactive campaigns.
• Coach, mentor and develop team members while fostering a positive culture across the CME group and the wider EPA.
• Champion best practice in regulatory delivery, balancing strong compliance with effective outcomes.
• Ensure training, health, safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement are embedded in operations.
• Deliver measurable success through strong engagement with regulated parties and improved compliance across industries.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in an environmental compliance, monitoring or enforcement setting.
• Ability to manage and develop a small team.
• Commitment to evidence‑based decision making and continuous improvement.
