Team Leader, Cold Chain, Beef

About the role

The Team Leader – Cold Chain is a key leadership position responsible for guiding a production team to deliver safe, high‑quality beef products while meeting compliance and efficiency targets. You will provide day‑to‑day direction, ensure clear understanding of production plans, and foster a culture of respect, accountability, teamwork, safety and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, guide and support team members to meet production, specification, quality, hygiene and health‑and‑safety requirements.
• Communicate daily production plans and ensure the team understands delivery expectations.
• Build an uncompromising safety culture, acting promptly when standards are not met.
• Monitor performance, attendance, compliance and workplace behaviours, escalating serious concerns as needed.
• Maintain accurate, secure and confidential injury, medical and rehabilitation records.
• Collaborate with processing teams, QA, Engineering, Department Leaders and other internal stakeholders.
• Champion continuous improvement through stream‑line meetings, waste reduction and practical problem solving.
• Support sustainability, environmental and reporting requirements, including daily KPI exceptions.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills with the ability to give clear directions and constructive feedback.
• Good attention to detail and confidence working in a fast‑moving production environment.
• Sound understanding of product specifications, customer requirements, food safety and hygiene compliance.
• Ability to work effectively with different teams and build positive working relationships.
• Willingness to complete all required leadership, health and safety, compliance and operational training.
