Tax Manager / Associate Director

About the role

Deloitte New Zealand is seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Associate Director to join its Tauranga team. You will lead a portfolio of SME and corporate clients, providing tax compliance, advisory and dispute resolution services while contributing to the growth of the local and national practice.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on a wide range of business tax matters, from compliance to strategic planning.
• Prepare and review income tax provisions for financial statement reporting.
• Assist clients in resolving tax disputes and navigating current and pending legislation.
• Deliver exceptional client service, driving high performance and collaboration within the team.
• Act as a role model, recognising and developing high‑performing people.
• Identify business development opportunities and support practice growth.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in tax compliance and advisory within New Zealand.
• Professional accounting qualification.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end tax processes and the NZ tax environment.
• Proven leadership and people‑development skills.
• Results‑driven, client‑oriented mindset.
