Systems Operator – 24/7 Payment Infrastructure

About the role

This hands‑on, fast‑paced position ensures the continuous availability and reliability of Paymark's EFTPOS and financial services. Working in a shift‑based 24/7 environment, you will monitor, maintain and support critical payment systems in real time.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and support mission‑critical payment systems around the clock.
• Maintain system availability, performance and reliability at all times.
• Manage daily financial settlement processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Run scheduled processes and perform system maintenance activities.
• Investigate and resolve issues using analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Handle multiple service requests and system alerts efficiently.

Required profile

• Qualification in Computer Science or related field, or at least 1 year of relevant IT experience.
• Experience in system monitoring, support or operations.
• Exposure to mainframe or mid‑range systems (HP NonStop / Connex is a plus).
• Basic scripting or programming knowledge.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts (2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off).
• Reliable, calm under pressure and a strong team player with good communication.
