Site Manager

About the role

Aoraki is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of commercial construction projects across the Wellington region. You will be responsible for overseeing sites ranging from $5M to $50M, ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day site operations for multi‑storey, refurbishment, and fit‑out projects.
• Read and interpret plans and specifications, translating them into actionable site tasks.
• Control budgets for labour and materials, monitoring costs against forecasts.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Lead, motivate and coordinate a skilled on‑site team, fostering collaboration with subcontractors, designers and clients.
• Utilise Procore or similar construction management software to track progress and documentation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of commercial site management experience with a main contractor.
• Proven track record on medium to high‑complexity projects ($5M‑$50M) in Wellington.
• Highly driven, detail‑oriented and able to see the bigger picture.
• Respectful, safety‑focused and continuously seeks improvement.
• Tech‑savvy with a willingness to adopt new tools.

Required skills

• Procore (or similar construction management platform).
• Reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
• Construction budgeting for labour and materials.
• Comprehensive knowledge of commercial construction from foundations to fit‑out.
