Senior Project Manager

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will join Beca’s Project and Programme team in Christchurch, providing strategic advice and leadership across the full project lifecycle for public and private sector clients in the South Island.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex, multidisciplinary building and infrastructure projects from early planning through design, procurement, consenting, construction and handover.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering tailored project management solutions that align with strategic and operational goals.
• Apply robust project governance, risk management and financial controls to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, confidently leading teams and influencing outcomes.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to capability development across the project team.
• Utilise commercial insight and strategic thinking to solve complex challenges and deliver value.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of demonstrated experience delivering building and infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to operate across both small and large projects and to act as a trusted advisor.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in sectors such as aviation, defence, education, health, transport and utilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the NZS 391X suite of construction contracts.
• Experience acting as Engineer’s Representative or Contract Administrator.
