Project Manager – Water Infrastructure

About the role

Beca is seeking a Project Manager to join its Southern Water team in Christchurch. You will be hands‑on in delivering water infrastructure projects across a range of sectors, working from concept through construction to achieve meaningful outcomes for clients and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Support project delivery by managing scope, budget and programme schedules.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contribute to design development aligned with client expectations.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, participating in meetings and workshops.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks.
• Assist with construction monitoring activities as required.

Required profile

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in project or design management, preferably within water infrastructure (e.g., three‑waters, treatment plants, pipelines, networks).
• Relevant engineering degree.
• Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery principles.
• Proactive, organised and committed to health & safety.

Required skills

• Engineering qualification.
• Project management experience in the water sector.
