Senior Advisor – Talent Acquisition (Engineering)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Advisor – Talent Acquisition to join SMEC’s Global Talent Acquisition team in Auckland. With 6+ years of experience, you will lead end‑to‑end recruitment for engineering positions across New Zealand and the wider region, partnering closely with hiring managers to secure top technical talent.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with hiring managers to define staffing needs for engineering roles.
• Source candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, SEEK and other channels, building a robust talent pipeline.
• Manage the recruitment process in Workday, from applicant tracking to offer administration.
• Analyse recruitment data in Excel to produce reports and optimise hiring strategies.
• Coordinate and conduct interviews, ensuring cultural and technical fit.
• Drive diversity and inclusion initiatives throughout the hiring cycle.
• Stay abreast of industry trends to attract high‑calibre engineering professionals.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of talent acquisition experience, preferably recruiting for engineering roles.
• Proven ability to partner with stakeholders and deliver recruitment solutions.
• Experience with applicant tracking systems; Workday knowledge is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, dashboards).
