Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Industrial Plant

About the role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at Oji Fibre Solutions, you will be responsible for the reliability, safety and performance of critical mechanical assets in a continuously operating industrial mill.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, analyse and resolve equipment failures, delivering long‑term solutions.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance using SAP and other maintenance management systems.
• Create and manage work‑packs, work orders, material requisitions and documentation in SAP.
• Lead and support critical shutdowns and breakdown responses to restore plant stability.
• Oversee contractor performance, ensuring safe and high‑quality execution.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and asset management teams to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Apply and enforce site safety procedures, including Management of Change (MOC) processes.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Proven experience in large‑scale industrial, manufacturing or power generation environments.
• Strong understanding of maintenance best practices in a 24/7 operation.
• Attention to detail and disciplined work execution.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP for work order and maintenance management.
• Experience using maintenance management systems.
