Mechanical Assembly Technician

About the role

Rocket Lab is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to join its Mechanical Production team. You will work hands‑on with tools, equipment and test facilities to assemble and test components for the Electron launch vehicle and future rockets.

Key responsibilities

• Receive components from the supply chain and perform precision mechanical assembly.
• Operate mechanical, electrical and automated test equipment to verify assembled parts.
• Maintain strict cleanliness standards, especially for oxygen‑service environments.
• Inspect assemblies to ensure high workmanship quality before handing them to the Integration team.
• Collaborate with test engineers and design engineers to meet product quality and safety standards.

Required profile

• Trade‑qualified in a relevant industry or at least 4 years of comparable experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work to exacting standards and maintain high cleanliness levels.
• Strong visual acuity for detailed inspection of assemblies.
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team in a fast‑paced production environment.
