Maintenance Technician – Morning Shift

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing site on a dedicated morning shift. Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, you will work closely with Production and Quality teams to keep equipment running safely, efficiently and in compliance with food‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reactive and preventative maintenance across all plant equipment and machinery.
• Support capital projects and contribute to operational improvements.
• Conduct electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs, including pneumatic systems.
• Ensure change‑over repeatability and develop equipment set‑up protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as downtime logs and stock‑take records.
• Update and manage the preventative maintenance system (MEX).
• Assist in developing and rolling out SOPs and other process documentation.
• Promote food safety and quality standards in all maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
• Champion health and safety practices throughout the site, including occasional Saturday shifts.

Required profile

• Recognised Trade Qualification (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Level 4 – manufacturing/industrial).
• Maintenance experience in FMCG or a similar environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
• Understanding of GMP, food safety and quality systems.
• Computer literacy (Word, Excel, MEX preferred).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Initiative, analytical thinking and a proactive improvement mindset.
• Valid unrestricted work visa.
