Learning Support Teacher (ORS funded students)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Teacher to join our He Kākano team at Te Kura Tuarua o Taraika ki Pukeahu. The role focuses on supporting ORS‑funded students with ongoing learning and resourcing needs, fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide targeted learning support to students with diverse educational needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement inclusive teaching strategies.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting interventions as required.
• Maintain accurate records of support plans and resource allocation.
• Promote a safe and welcoming environment that respects Māori culture and language.

Required profile

• Qualified Special Education teacher with experience in mainstreaming students.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and Māori educational values.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners.

Required skills

• Knowledge of learning support systems and resource planning.
