Financial Accounting Lead - Reporting

About the role

As the Financial Accounting Lead – Reporting you will safeguard the financial integrity of One NZ by delivering accurate, timely, high-quality financial reports. You will lead the team responsible for half-year and annual statements, monthly group reporting and audit support, working closely with the Financial Controller, auditors and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the reporting team, providing coaching and clear direction.
• Deliver accurate half-year and annual financial statements, including Audit Committee reporting.
• Oversee month-end and year-end reporting, group consolidation and statutory cash reporting.
• Partner with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
• Provide trusted accounting advice to business stakeholders.
• Ensure integrity of the general ledger, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Drive improvements across finance systems, processes and reporting efficiency.
• Champion strong governance, compliance and best‑practice financial reporting.

Required profile

• Strong experience in financial reporting under NZ IFRS and Tier 1 requirements.
• Proven ability to manage group accounting, consolidations and statutory reporting.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership skills with a track record of coaching finance teams.
• Sound judgement and a passion for continuous improvement in finance processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with auditors, controllers and business partners.
