Editorial Research Journalist (Remote, Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an Editorial Research Journalist to work remotely on a contract basis, contributing 10‑40 hours per week. You will create original news stories, features, and in‑depth articles that engage diverse audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Research, pitch, and develop original news stories, features, and long‑form articles.
• Conduct interviews, gather firsthand insights, and verify facts using authoritative sources.
• Write clear, compelling, and accurate content tailored to various readerships.
• Edit and proofread articles to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to editorial standards.
• Collaborate with editors, designers, and fellow journalists to improve content quality.
• Monitor current events, trends, and issues relevant to assigned beats.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a journalist with a strong portfolio of published work.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to conduct interviews and synthesize complex information.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a remote setting.
• High degree of curiosity, initiative, and critical thinking.
• Solid understanding of media law, ethics, and best practices.
