About the role
We are seeking an Editorial Research Journalist to work remotely on a contract basis, contributing 10‑40 hours per week. You will create original news stories, features, and in‑depth articles that engage diverse audiences.
Key responsibilities
- Research, pitch, and develop original news stories, features, and long‑form articles.
- Conduct interviews, gather firsthand insights, and verify facts using authoritative sources.
- Write clear, compelling, and accurate content tailored to various readerships.
- Edit and proofread articles to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to editorial standards.
- Collaborate with editors, designers, and fellow journalists to improve content quality.
- Monitor current events, trends, and issues relevant to assigned beats.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a journalist with a strong portfolio of published work.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct interviews and synthesize complex information.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a remote setting.
- High degree of curiosity, initiative, and critical thinking.
- Solid understanding of media law, ethics, and best practices.
