About the role
The Domestic Assistant provides essential domestic services across clinical and non‑clinical areas of NHS hospitals and health centres. You will help maintain a safe, clean, and infection‑controlled environment that meets national standards and local quality requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Perform a range of cleaning and housekeeping duties in patient wards, offices, and public areas.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, infection‑control protocols, and Audit Scotland guidelines.
- Follow the National Cleaning Services Specification and HAI Task Force requirements.
- Support waste management, linen handling, and stock replenishment as needed.
- Report any hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
Required profile
- Ability to work a 36‑hour week (07:00‑15:00 Mon‑Tue, 07:00‑14:30 Wed‑Fri).
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Experience in domestic or cleaning roles, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality service and following established procedures.
