Diesel Technician

About the role

Our client, a long‑standing truck dealership in New Plymouth, is looking for an experienced Diesel Technician to join their busy workshop. The role offers the chance to work with the latest diagnostic equipment and progress towards managerial responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform servicing, repairs, inspections and pre‑delivery inspections on heavy trucks.
• Ensure vehicles are road‑safe, compliant and minimise repeat work.
• Accurately complete paperwork, job cards and maintain high standards of customer care.
• Train and support fellow workshop team members.

Required profile

• Qualified Diesel Technician with a clean heavy‑truck licence.
• Ability to work autonomously, be productive and lead by example.
• Strong work ethic, diligent and accurate.
• Team‑player attitude with a can‑do mindset and eagerness to learn.

Required skills

• Proficiency with diagnostic and scan tools.
