Developer – Customer APIs (Hybrid, Wellington)

About the role

Join BNZ’s Customer, Onboarding and Identity (COI) domain as a Developer on the Maverick team. You will help build safe, simple services that let consumers manage their information, working in an agile, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust, scalable microservices and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Deliver features and resolve technical problems efficiently, contributing to production support and on‑call rotations.
• Write resilient, observable code, participate in code reviews and quality processes.
• Break down moderately complex problems into clear tasks and share knowledge through pairing and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners, communicating clearly and fostering a positive team culture.
