Contract Manager - Heavy Civil / Structures

About the role

Fulton Hogan is seeking a Contract Manager to join its Auckland team, overseeing the full contract lifecycle for heavy civil and structural projects. You will work closely with project, commercial and operational leaders to shape winning bids, manage risk and ensure financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contract administration across a portfolio of projects, including claims, variations and payment schedules.
• Track costs, margins, risks and opportunities, providing clear commercial reporting to project leaders.
• Coordinate tender and negotiation processes, ensuring contract terms are documented and followed.
• Partner with project and site teams to resolve issues early, manage disputes and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.
• Support planning and review of project resourcing, providing commercial insight to deliver safely, profitably and on schedule.
• Champion compliance with Fulton Hogan processes, legal obligations and health‑and‑safety requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in contract or commercial management within construction, civil infrastructure or a related field.
• Strong understanding of contract law and standard construction contract forms (e.g., NZS / NZ3910).
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence, negotiate and build trusted relationships.
• Solid financial and analytical abilities, comfortable working with budgets, forecasts and commercial reports.
• Proactive, organised and able to juggle multiple projects under pressure.
• Collaborative, low‑ego attitude that fits an open, ideas‑first team culture.
