Clinical Services Manager

About the role

Oranga Tamariki is seeking a Registered Psychologist to lead a new national intensive clinical services team. This permanent, full‑time position will shape trauma‑informed psychological care for children and young people across New Zealand, working closely with whānau, iwi and community partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver intensive clinical services for tamariki and rangatahi with complex, high‑needs presentations.
• Lead, mentor and support Clinical Service Psychologists to meet clinical governance and professional standards.
• Ensure trauma‑informed, culturally responsive services for children, young people and their families.
• Manage budgets, staffing and assets to achieve efficient service delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with iwi, Māori, Pacific peoples and community agencies.
• Oversee quality assurance, risk management and compliance with legislative and organisational standards.
• Promote professional development, supervision, health and safety, and team engagement.
• Contribute to regional and national planning, reporting and continuous service improvement.

Required profile

• Registered Psychologist with proven clinical leadership experience.
• Demonstrated passion for improving outcomes for children and young people who have experienced trauma.
• Strong cultural competence and commitment to evidence‑based, trauma‑informed practice.
• Experience managing budgets, staff resources and implementing national protocols.
• Ability to collaborate with senior leaders and external partners, including iwi and Māori organisations.
