Building Surveying / Project Management Hybrid Role

About the role

CS&R is seeking a driven, practical, and curious professional to join our small, nimble building consultancy in a hybrid Building Surveying and Project Management role. The position works across commercial and residential property, offering variety from technical building reviews to managing client‑side projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct building surveying tasks such as inspections, defect reviews, due diligence, maintenance planning and lifecycle advice.
• Lead and support project management activities on client‑side building and property projects.
• Coordinate consultants, contractors, clients and other stakeholders.
• Prepare clear notes, reports, scopes, meeting records and other project documentation.
• Keep projects moving by closing loops, following through and communicating clearly.
• Work closely with senior team members while developing technical and commercial judgment.

Required profile

• Experience in building surveying combined with project management.
• Practical, organised and comfortable dealing with people.
• Eager to learn and able to shift between technical detail and project follow‑through.
• Self‑starter who takes ownership without needing to be chased.
• Clear, respectful communication, even when delivering difficult messages.
• Energy, curiosity, sound judgment and a willingness to grow.

Required skills

• Building surveying techniques (inspections, defect analysis, due diligence).
• Project management fundamentals (planning, coordination, documentation).
