Unit Manager – High-End Hospitality Site in Wellington CBD

About the role

We are seeking a confident, service‑driven Unit Manager to lead a high‑performing hospitality team at a premium corporate site in Wellington CBD. This hands‑on leadership position will oversee guest experience, concierge support, and event coordination, ensuring daily delivery of exceptional service and Manaakitanga.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and inspire the Guest Experience team to consistently exceed service standards.
• Build and maintain long‑term client relationships as the primary on‑site contact.
• Design and execute a diverse calendar of events in partnership with internal stakeholders.
• Manage rostering, onboarding, training and performance development across multiple service streams.
• Oversee front‑desk, food & beverage, and end‑to‑end event logistics.
• Provide strategic oversight of kitchen operations together with the Head Chef.
• Ensure compliance with cleanliness, health, safety and food‑safety regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a hospitality leadership role, preferably in a 4‑ or 5‑star environment.
• Track record of managing events of varying scale and complexity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional presence.
• Experience managing a P&L with annual revenue of $1 million or more.
• Willingness to obtain a General Manager’s Certificate for liquor service.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications.
• Familiarity with AIMs systems.
