About the role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex building structure projects for our Christchurch Structures team. You will work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, future-focused engineering solutions that positively impact communities across New Zealand.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage structural engineering projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to a high standard.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying growth opportunities.
- Oversee project planning, financial performance, reporting and risk management.
- Guide technical delivery including design, feasibility studies and contract documentation.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams through design and construction phases.
- Mentor and support developing engineers to foster a high-performing team culture.
- Apply innovative thinking to solve complex engineering challenges.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status preferred or working towards it.
- Approximately 8+ years of experience in structural engineering and project management.
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage client relationships.
- Strong design capability across steel, concrete and timber structural systems.
- Sound knowledge of New Zealand standards and design practices (NZ 3910 experience advantageous).
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, client-focused mindset.
- Proactive approach to mentoring and developing others.
- Current clean driver’s licence.
