Software Specialist – .NET Developer (Financial Crime)

About the role
ASB is looking for a Software Specialist to join its Financial Crime Agile squad. You will help protect customers by building and expanding fraud‑prevention and behavioural‑intelligence capabilities across digital channels.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain C#/.NET Core solutions that integrate with mobile and web applications.
- Implement and support micro‑services, event‑streaming (Kafka) and API integrations.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers and engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Monitor, alert and report on system health; ensure high availability and scalability.
- Mentor teammates and promote best practices in DevOps and Agile delivery.
Required profile
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in a regulated banking environment.
- Strong ownership mindset, proactive problem‑solver and passion for continuous improvement.
- Comfortable working in a squad‑embedded, delivery‑focused setting.
Required skills
- C# and .NET/.NET Core
- SQL Server
- Microservices architecture
- Kafka or other event‑streaming platforms
- GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES)
- Azure DevOps and Octopus Deploy
- Agile development principles
