Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor (Engineering)

About the role

SMEC is seeking a Senior Advisor in Talent Acquisition to lead end‑to‑end recruitment for engineering talent across New Zealand and the wider region. You will partner with hiring managers, build strong pipelines, and drive innovative hiring strategies in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with hiring managers to understand and fulfil engineering staffing needs.
• Source, screen and interview candidates using platforms such as LinkedIn and SEEK.
• Maintain and grow talent pipelines to ensure a steady flow of qualified candidates.
• Utilise Workday for applicant tracking, candidate data management and recruitment metrics.
• Analyse recruitment data in Excel to produce reports and optimise hiring processes.
• Coordinate interview schedules and ensure alignment with company culture and technical requirements.
• Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
• Stay informed on industry trends to attract top‑tier engineering professionals.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in talent acquisition, preferably recruiting for engineering roles.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively.
• Experience working with applicant tracking systems; Workday knowledge is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate insights from recruitment data.
