Senior Financial Accountant (3-month contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant on a 3‑month contract to support our Wellington team during a critical year‑end period. The role focuses on maintaining the integrity of financial data through reconciliations, balance‑sheet clean‑up and analytical insight.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Clean up and verify balance‑sheet items ahead of year‑end closing.
• Prepare and lodge GST returns and assist with withholding tax where required.
• Provide analytical support and reporting for senior management.
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely completion of year‑end processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior financial accounting role.
• Strong background in reconciliations and balance‑sheet management.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure during busy financial periods.
• Exposure to tax compliance, particularly GST and withholding tax, is preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting.
