About the role
We are seeking a full‑time Leading Hand to oversee daily operations at our kōura (lobster) handling and processing facility on the Chatham Islands. You will coordinate the team, ensure safe and efficient workflows, and support continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and guide team members in daily kōura handling and processing activities.
- Maintain operational standards and safety protocols.
- Monitor stock levels and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance.
- Support training and development of staff.
- Liaise with management to drive performance and productivity improvements.
Required profile
- Proven leadership and team coordination abilities.
- Commitment to workplace safety and company values.
- Strong communication, time‑management and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience in fisheries, aquaculture or related industries is advantageous.
- Passion for sustainability and cultural heritage.
