Housekeeper / Cleaner

About the role

We are expanding our housekeeping team at Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort and are looking for dedicated, detail‑oriented individuals to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This full‑time position involves maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of guest rooms and public areas in a vibrant hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high standards by thoroughly cleaning guest rooms, making beds, vacuuming floors, and cleaning bathrooms.
• Complete cleaning tasks efficiently within allocated hours.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily cleaning targets and operational goals.
• Adhere to safety protocols and environmental standards.
• Use specialised cleaning equipment and products safely, with training provided.

Required profile

• Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Physical fitness to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Clear communication skills for interacting with guests, team members, and contractors.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
• Positive, proactive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of safe handling and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment (training will be provided).

What we offer

• Minimum of 30 hours per week.
• Hourly rate of $27 NZD.
• Rotating roster with shifts starting at 9:00 am, Monday through Sunday.
• Training and tools for specialised cleaning equipment.
