Entry Level Support Engineer – IT Helpdesk

About the role
Join New Era Technology as an Entry Level Support Engineer supporting education clients in Palmerston North. You will be the first point of contact for IT issues, providing face‑to‑face assistance and managing tickets to ensure swift resolution.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to client inquiries via phone, email, chat and in person.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems.
- Document and track incidents using the ticketing system.
- Escalate unresolved issues to specialised teams and follow up until closure.
- Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge and stay informed of industry trends.
- Complete daily timesheets with strong attention to detail.
- Travel locally across the region as required.
Required profile
- NZ citizen or permanent resident.
- Valid NZ driver’s licence (full or restricted).
- Ability to work a 38‑hour week (Mon‑Thu 8 hrs, Fri 6 hrs) onsite at client sites.
- Excellent communication skills with non‑technical users.
- Strong organisational skills and willingness to travel locally.
