About the role
Mid Argyll Hospital is seeking two Emergency Nurse Practitioners to join its 24‑hour A&E service – one full‑time (36 hours per week) and one part‑time (34.5 hours per week). The role blends clinical expertise with leadership, supporting both the emergency department and inpatient services.
Key responsibilities
- Act as Senior Nurse for the A&E department and during out‑of‑hours periods, covering the Senior Charge Nurse when absent.
- Deliver safe and effective clinical care within the Emergency Nurse Practitioner service.
- Collaborate closely with local GPs who provide medical cover for the hospital and community.
- Manage and develop the performance of the nursing team.
- Contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives and quality standards.
Required profile
- Qualified Nurse with experience in emergency and acute care settings.
- Ability to assume senior nursing responsibilities in A&E.
- Excellent communication, prioritisation and decision‑making skills.
- Commitment to safe clinical practice and continuous improvement.
