Director of Finance and Business Operations

About the role

Avila College, one of Victoria’s largest Catholic secondary schools for girls, is seeking a Director of Finance and Business Operations. Reporting directly to the College Principal, this senior leader will guide finance, information technology, facilities, infrastructure and capital works across a five‑year fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all financial functions, including budgeting, reporting and compliance.
• Direct the planning, delivery and maintenance of IT systems, facilities, infrastructure projects and capital works.
• Participate as a member of the College Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning and business operations.
• Advise the Principal, School Advisory Council, MACS and other stakeholders on financial and operational matters.
• Ensure policies and procedures align with MACS guidelines and industry best practice.

Required profile

• Eligibility to work in Australia.
• Ability to obtain a Working With Children Check, National Police Check and complete anaphylaxis and mandatory reporting training.
• Proven senior‑level experience in finance and business operations, preferably within an educational or not‑for‑profit environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to the college’s Catholic values.
