Cruise Operations Specialist

About the role

Abercrombie & Kent is seeking a Cruise Operations Specialist to join its Akorn Destination Management division in New Zealand. Reporting to the New Zealand Cruise Operations Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for cruise accounts, ensuring seamless delivery of shore excursions, turnaround logistics and cruise‑related events across all New Zealand ports.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality ground services for cruise ships visiting New Zealand, following established processes and procedures.
• Manage cruise accounts and act as the Akorn cruise face for operational queries related to land programmes, turnarounds and events.
• Ensure profitable cruise calls with timely financial reporting in line with company guidelines.
• Travel to ports and regions throughout New Zealand to oversee ship calls and guarantee smooth operational delivery.
• Liaise with cruise line executives and onboard contacts to maintain service quality.
• Resolve on‑site issues and report quality‑control concerns in real time.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and clients.
• Accurately book, confirm and manage all services required for land programmes, turnarounds and tours within budget.
• Collaborate with the Contracting Manager to secure contracted rates and with Finance to ensure correct invoicing.
