Consultant Ophthalmologist – Glaucoma (Dunedin & Queenstown)

About the role

Otago Vision Specialist is seeking a FRANZCO‑qualified Consultant Ophthalmologist with a strong focus on glaucoma to work across its modern private clinics in Dunedin and Queenstown. The role offers a blend of specialist glaucoma surgery and general ophthalmology within a supportive, forward‑thinking practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and treat glaucoma patients, including medical and surgical interventions.
• Perform laser procedures, minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS), trabeculectomy and tube surgery.
• Conduct cataract surgery and other general ophthalmology procedures as needed.
• Maintain high‑quality diagnostic services and collaborate with referral networks.
• Contribute to the development and growth of a subspecialty glaucoma service.

Required profile

• FRANZCO‑qualified Consultant Ophthalmologist.
• Eligible for specialist registration in New Zealand.
• Demonstrated expertise in glaucoma management and surgery.
• Willingness to work in a private practice setting across two locations.
