Consultant Haematologist (Stem Cell Transplant)

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant Haematologist with specialist expertise in allogeneic stem cell transplantation to join the Wellington Blood and Cancer Haematology Service. The role involves delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care across malignant and non‑malignant haematology services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of haematology patients.
• Lead outpatient clinics, inpatient services and laboratory oversight.
• Develop and shape the stem cell transplant programme locally and contribute to national transplant initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including oncology leadership, to ensure seamless patient pathways.
• Participate in service development, quality improvement, clinical governance and teaching activities.

Required profile

• Qualified Haematologist with experience as a Stem Cell Transplant Physician or recent Stem Cell Transplant Fellowship.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver patient‑centred care and clinical leadership.
• Strong collaborative skills to work across multiple hospital sites and national transplant centres.
