Registered Nurse – Fixed-Term (9 months)

About the role

Join the nursing team at Summerset’s Paraparaumu village, providing high‑quality aged‑care services in a resident‑directed environment. This fixed‑term position focuses on enhancing the daily lives and wellbeing of long‑term residents.

Key responsibilities

• Manage residents’ everyday needs, from routine clinical care to end‑of‑life support.
• Create and follow long‑term care plans and conduct clinical assessments.
• Take charge of the care centre on assigned shifts, making appropriate clinical decisions.
• Deliver planned nursing care, evaluate progress with residents and families, and adjust care as needed.
• Provide guidance and direction to caregivers on shift.
• Build trusted relationships with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team.

Required profile

• Current NZ nursing registration and practising certificate.
• Genuine interest in working with older adults in a retirement‑village setting.
• Ability to lead, stay calm under pressure and demonstrate emotional resilience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
