Audits & Compliance Engineer – Dairy & Food

About the role

As an Audits & Compliance Engineer you will join AsureQuality’s team in Hamilton, delivering high‑quality audits, inspections and evaluations across dairy and non‑dairy food operations. You will ensure compliance with MPI regulations, industry standards and customer requirements while providing accurate reporting and trusted technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct audits and heat‑treatment inspections to verify compliance with MPI Acts, regulations, standards and importing‑country requirements.
• Evaluate operator premises and heat‑treatment processes under MPI Recognised Person approvals.
• Prepare detailed audit reports, track non‑conformances and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain and develop technical expertise through training, skill checks and industry forums.
• Build strong relationships with customers, regulators and internal teams.
• Support project planning, client management and contract reviews.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and uphold health & safety standards.
• Manage time and expense records and assist with special projects as required.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in dairy, food processing or manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., BE, BTech, Dairy Diploma, MSc in Dairy Science) is advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Knowledge of HACCP principles (advanced awareness desirable).
