Associate Professor / Lecturer – Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy

About the role

Auckland University of Technology invites applications for a full‑time, permanent academic position at Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Professor level to lead and teach within its nationally recognised Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy programme. The role will shape contemporary practice and education while working in a collegial, values‑led environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and continuously improve undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy.
• Supervise and mentor students, including research projects and clinical placements.
• Lead and contribute to research programmes focused on acute and chronic cardiorespiratory conditions, critical care, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
• Engage with clinical partners to ensure practice‑led, research‑informed teaching.
• Provide academic leadership, service to the School of Allied Health, and mentorship to junior staff.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in Physiotherapy or a closely related discipline.
• Established expertise in acute and chronic cardiorespiratory physiotherapy.
• Demonstrated record of high‑quality teaching and scholarly research.
• Leadership experience with willingness to assume senior academic responsibilities.
• Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and to Māori and Pacific knowledge.
