Vehicle Service Technician / Automotive Mechanic

About the role

Join Tesla's growing Service Teams in Wellington as a Vehicle Service Technician. You will work on the most advanced electric vehicles on the road, applying cutting‑edge diagnostic tools and repair techniques while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic and advanced diagnostics and repairs across the entire Tesla product line.
• Work both independently and collaboratively to maximize service efficiency.
• Provide feedback to internal teams for continuous improvement of procedures and products.
• Document repairs clearly and concisely.
• Inspect, maintain, and request replacement of service equipment as needed.
• Support broader business objectives such as vehicle detailing and configuration.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new technicians when required.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Motor Mechanic or Registered Vehicle Technician.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a qualified mechanic or technician.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance methods, parts, and tools.
• Creative problem‑solver with a passion for the Tesla brand.

Required skills

• Use of diagnostic scan tools and scopes.
• Vehicle diagnostics and electronic system troubleshooting.
• HVAC service and hydraulic system knowledge.
• Brake system repair.
• Experience with electric or hybrid vehicles (preferred).
