Vehicle Service Technician – Automotive Mechanic (Auckland)

About the role

Join Tesla’s Service Team in Auckland as a Vehicle Service Technician, working on the company’s cutting‑edge electric and hybrid vehicles. You will deliver high‑quality repairs and diagnostics while upholding Tesla’s service standards and providing an exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic and advanced diagnostics and repairs across the full Tesla product line.
• Work both independently and collaboratively to maximise service efficiency.
• Provide feedback to internal teams to drive continuous improvement of procedures and products.
• Operate a range of hand, power and shop tools and document all work accurately.
• Use a company‑supplied laptop for diagnostics and professional development.
• Inspect and maintain service equipment, requesting replacements when needed.
• Partner with other departments for vehicle detailing, configuration and delivery.
• Assist in onboarding and training new technicians as required.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Motor Mechanic or Registered Vehicle Technician (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including HVAC, hydraulics, brakes and electronic modules.
• Experience using diagnostic scan tools and interpreting results.
• Experience with electric or hybrid vehicles is a plus.
• Creative problem‑solver and advocate for the Tesla brand.
