Systems Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Systems Specialist to join the Digital Learning team at the University of Otago. The role focuses on supporting and administering digital learning systems, ensuring optimal performance for students and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues for digital learning systems.
• Maintain and administer systems within the assigned portfolio.
• Collaborate with clients to achieve objectives and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure system performance aligns with client outcomes.

Required profile

• Strong background in information systems.
• Proactive mindset with ability to work independently.
• Adaptability to changing technology and business requirements.
• Experience delivering outcomes across core learning management systems.
• Ability to translate requirements into documented, trackable changes.
• Effective problem‑solving and stakeholder communication skills.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term 12‑month contract (full‑time, 37.5 hrs/week).
• Salary range $85,057 – $92,174 NZD per year (top of range $97,508 NZD).
