Structural Engineer – Auckland

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its high‑performing Buildings team in Auckland. You will be responsible for the design, documentation and delivery of a variety of building projects across New Zealand, working closely with clients, architects and other industry partners.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Project Engineer on projects of varying size, supervising a small team of engineers and technicians.
• Develop and agree design philosophy and fundamentals for each project.
• Review and comment on deliverables produced by team members at key project stages.
• Provide technical quality assurance and mentor junior engineers.
• Contribute to risk and claim assessments, procurement strategies and construction techniques.

Required profile

• Demonstrable experience on a range of building projects.
• Chartered Engineer status is highly valued.
• Strong understanding of structural behaviour and construction processes.
• Ability to manage design and construction phases and develop client relationships.
