Specialist, Sports Marketing

About the role

The Specialist, Sports Marketing will build and manage adidas' portfolio of sports partners across New Zealand, including athletes, teams, clubs and federations. You will identify partnership opportunities that align with brand and category priorities and bring them to life through compelling activations.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and delivery of the local Sports Marketing plan.
• Identify, negotiate and activate partnership opportunities that support brand priorities.
• Build and manage a diverse portfolio of athletes, teams, clubs and federations.
• Ensure partners represent the adidas brand authentically on and off the field.
• Manage contracts, budgets and spend in line with global policy and local requirements.
• Integrate local partners into major brand campaigns and initiatives.
• Develop activation plans that maximise partnership impact.
• Provide day‑to‑day support to contracted partners and maintain strong relationships.
• Collaborate with Brand Marketing, Product Development, Category Planning, Sales, Finance and HR.

Required profile

• Strong network across the New Zealand sports industry (federations, teams, athletes or agents).
• Deep understanding of the local sports and cultural landscape.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Commercial awareness, sound judgement and attention to detail.
• Analytical and reporting capability.
• University degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Marketing or related field.
• At least 3 years’ experience in sports marketing, partnerships or brand activations.
