Senior Security Operations Specialist

About the role

Join a fast‑growing cyber security team in New Zealand as a Senior Security Operations Specialist. Reporting to the Security Operations Manager, you will own technical delivery of incident response, threat detection and vulnerability management while shaping the overall security operations function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead investigations and response activities for security incidents.
• Perform threat detection, triage and continuous security monitoring.
• Support and enhance Security Operations processes and capabilities.
• Drive vulnerability management and remediation initiatives.
• Collaborate with development and technology teams to review security controls.
• Provide security input into projects, platforms and technology initiatives.
• Work with external security vendors and specialist partners.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across the security function.

Required profile

• Experience in Security Operations, Security Analyst, Incident Response or Security Engineering roles.
• Proven background in SecOps, incident response, vulnerability management, security monitoring and investigations.
• Familiarity with enterprise security tooling and DevSecOps environments.
• Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and communicate security concepts clearly.
