About the role

We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to create high‑fidelity reasoning traces that teach large language models how to plan, use tools, and make decisions step by step. This fully remote, flexible contract position places you at the frontier of AI development, shaping how next‑generation models reason and solve complex problems.

Key responsibilities

• Author detailed reasoning traces that illustrate how LLMs should approach sophisticated technical tasks.
• Decompose real‑world problems into clear, logical decision‑making steps.
• Review and refine traces from other contributors to ensure consistency and depth.
• Design data strategies for multi‑step, ambiguous, and technically demanding scenarios.
• Provide architectural insights to improve model handling of edge cases and failure modes.
• Work independently and asynchronously, managing your own schedule.

Required profile

• Proven experience in machine learning, AI research, or a closely related technical field.
• Ability to break down hard problems into explicit, logical, well‑documented steps.
• Familiarity with LLM evaluation methodologies, training pipelines, or RLHF‑style feedback systems.
• Strong technical writing skills to make complex reasoning legible.
