Senior Consultant – Tax

About the role

Deloitte New Zealand is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its Hamilton tax team. You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from SMEs to large multinational corporations, providing expert tax advice and developing your technical and managerial capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of clients covering a broad range of corporate tax matters.
• Provide tax compliance, planning and advisory services, including GST and employment tax issues.
• Identify, assess and mitigate tax risks while meeting statutory deadlines.
• Prepare and review income tax returns and tax provisions.
• Stay up‑to‑date with current and pending New Zealand tax legislation and its global interactions.
• Support clients in resolving tax disputes and achieving business objectives.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience in a professional services or corporate tax environment.
• Professional qualification in law or accounting.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end tax processes and the New Zealand tax landscape.
• Ability to build confident relationships with senior client stakeholders.
