Restaurant and Bars Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Restaurant and Bars Manager to lead the daily operations of the hotel’s restaurant and bar venues in Christchurch. You will ensure exceptional guest experiences, safety, and profitability while upholding brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily operations of the restaurant and bars, maintaining high service standards.
• Lead, train, and supervise staff, handling rostering, performance management and team development.
• Control stock, manage ordering, cash handling and produce daily operational reports.
• Maintain cleanliness, food safety, health & safety and liquor licensing compliance.
• Coordinate with kitchen and hotel teams to deliver quality dining experiences, functions and events.
• Monitor sales, labour costs and budgets, driving profitability through promotions and guest engagement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
• At least three years of relevant experience, with a minimum of two years in a managerial capacity.
• Previous experience in an extended‑stay hotel or similar sized property preferred.
• Ability to deliver outstanding guest experiences consistently.
• NZ Managers Certificate.
• Valid First Aider Certificate.
