About the role
We are looking for a compassionate Registered Nurse to join the In‑Patient Unit at Mercy Hospice in Auckland. The role involves delivering specialist palliative care to patients with life‑limiting illnesses and supporting their families and whānau through holistic, person‑centred care.
Key responsibilities
- Provide nursing care that addresses physical, emotional, social, cultural and spiritual needs of patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with hospice policies.
- Work 24/7 rostered shifts, including nights and weekends, to ensure continuous care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and staff, offering support and information.
Required profile
- Current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate.
- Minimum two years of nursing experience (palliative care experience preferred but not essential; new graduates will be considered).
- Passion for delivering high‑quality, holistic care.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work rostered shifts.

- Computer literacy.
