Production Operator – Bedding Manufacturing (Otahuhu)

About the role

Join the bedding production team at Sleepyhead’s Otahuhu facility. You will rotate through multiple work centres, handling raw materials, operating machinery and supporting the assembly of mattresses and related products. Full training is provided to help you become multi‑skilled across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Perform manual production tasks and operate machinery in line with safety and quality standards.
• Ensure raw materials and finished goods meet quality specifications.
• Complete quality checks, maintain accurate records and report any hazards or non‑conformances.
• Follow job rotation schedules and keep work areas tidy.
• Collaborate with teammates to promote a safe and productive workplace.

Required profile

• Motivated, reliable team player with a strong safety focus.
• Comfortable with manual handling and physical work.
• Punctual, attentive to detail and willing to learn across multiple production areas.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Forklift licence (advantageous).
